ITV Saturday Night Takeaway fans were reeling after hosts Ant and Dec ended the show with an announcement.

The Geordie presenters ended this week's episode on Saturday, March 9 by announcing the show would not be on screens next week.

Instead the Six Nations rugby will air on ITV1 next week. France will play England in the match from Groupama Stadium in Lyon, where this year's tournament is brought to a conclusion.

Viewers were fuming with the fact the show wouldn't be on for two weeks and took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to share their disappointment- Wales Online reports.

One person wrote: "Can the rugby not go on ITV 4 or something instead. A second added: "Not on next week because of the rugby? Who even cares about rugby FFS."

A third commented: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S NOT ON, RUGBY YOU WILL PAY." And a fourth shared: "No #SaturdayNightTakeaway next week because of the rugby? FEWMIN."

The latest episode of Saturday Night Takeaway had viewers in hysterics when Ant and Dec pranked daytime TV star Lorraine Kelly in the Get Out of Me Ear segment. Lorraine was forced to do various embarrassing tasks while she shopped in a department store. These included eating cereal while trying on shoes, drinking Prosecco from a pair of heels, playing the bagpipes on an escalator and having photos with other customers.

The presenter's final challenge saw her asked to throw items back down to the bottom floor of the store with her saying: "I don't want them anymore!" Store staff looked on, shocked that the popular TV personality was behaving that way.
