Zara McDermott's foot cast makes a return as she continues to battle bone fracture

Strictly Come Dancing and Love Island contestant Zara McDermott has been wearing a support boot on her leg since painfully fracturing her tibia in December last year

Zara McDermott had her moon boot back on for a trip to the theatre on Saturday night after months of battling foot pain.

The 27-year-old reality star was left in pain last December when she fractured her tibia - one of the longer bones in the lower half of the leg. She has been updating fans on her condition in the months since - even worrying some by revealing she may need surgery in order to fully recover from her injury.

Zara has occasionally worn a moon boot while out and about - recently sharing footage of herself sporting it when she was on holiday in the Canary Islands earlier this month. However, she also frequently posts social media content and attends events and interviews without the supportive device on.

Indeed, in the middle of March, she arrived at ITV’s Lorraine without the boot on as she appeared on the show to promote her latest business ventures. And on Friday, she shared a video of herself, boyfriend Sam Thompson, 31, and their mate Pete Wicks, 36, sliding around her kitchen floor as they completed a dance routine together - all the while Zara didn’t have the foot cast on.

But on Saturday night, Zara headed to the Peacock Theatre in London to watch her Strictly Come Dancing partner Graziano Di Prima, 29, perform in his dance show, Believe. Zara - who performed with Graziano on Strictly during the 2023 contest - rocked up wearing a white top, thick, grey-coloured cardigan, an even thicker black coat, black leather trousers, and carrying an oversized handbag.

While on her feet, fans could see her rocking one chic military boot - while her other foot was encased in her trusty support cast. Zara recently shared with fans that she may need to be operated on to help her injury heal. She declared on Instagram: "This evening I'm heading to the hospital because while I was away I got some news from my Dr about my tibia fracture. The good news is that there is some small evidence of healing! Yay!

"However he said he can see that the bone surrounding the fracture is under a lot of tension/pressure... whatever that means? Surgery is still an option but I've opted for the most natural route which is to try and help it heal on its own... Which means for the next few months I'm going to be on crutches and in a boot, which I'm being fitted for today. I've had to pull out of a few work things over the next few weeks because I know I need to prioritise my leg healing, but I'm hoping this is the beginning of the end now!"

Meanwhile, boyfriend Sam stunned fans this weekend when he made a shock appearance on ITV’s Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway live show. He appeared alongside recent I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! co-star Marvin Humes - who introduced him as an unexpected fifth member of JLS. Many fans were stunned when he then performed with the boyband, with one viewer writing on X: "Sam Thompson singing and dancing with JLS, I’ve never been so happy for anyone in my life #saturdaynighttakeaway."
