All the latest Arsenal injury news and return dates after the Gunners moved up to third in the Premier League table

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be hoping that Declan Rice and Gabriel Magalhaes have not picked up any serious injuries. The pair were replaced in the Gunners' 5-0 win over Crystal Palace due to minor knocks.

Rice was replaced by Jorginho shortly after the hour mark due to a hamstring issue before Gabriel was brought off for Jakub Kiwior following a minor knock. Fortunately, Arsenal are now not in action for eight days meaning there's plenty of time for recovery.

In better news, Emile Smith Rowe finally made his return from the treatment room, enjoying a brief cameo in midfield. The Hale End graduate hit the ground running at the Emirates Stadium with some nice touches and half-turns.

Despite initial concerns over Oleksandr Zinchenko, who was absent from a few training photos during the week, he returned to the starting line-up. Arsenal have just over a week before their next game, providing Arteta and his players some much-needed rest.

So, with that being said, football.london has collated all the latest Arsenal injury news and updates following an impressive win over the Eagles.

Declan Rice

Rice seemed to pick up a hamstring injury towards the end of the Palace game, but Arteta has since attributed the issue to 'tightness'.

Since going off, Rice has offered his first public comment, saying "yesssir [flame emoji]," on Ivan Toney's Instagram following his goal against Nottingham Forest.

What Arteta has said: "He was feeling some tightness. I don't know what muscle it was. But when he says that at three-nil then obviously we don't want to take any risks."

Expected return date: Nottingham Forest (A) - January 30

Gabriel Magalhaes

Gabriel picked up a knock following a collision late into the Palace game. With Arsenal home and dry, his substitution appeared to be precautionary and he himself also reacted to Saturday's game on Instagram, uploading a picture after the game posing with his man of the match award.

What Arteta has said: "He had some discomfort from a tackle in the first half and he was struggling a bit so it was the right moment to take him off the field."

Expected return date: Nottingham Forest (A) - January 30

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Tomiyasu is back fit after suffering a calf problem which kept him out for most of December, but he's currently competing at the Asian Cup with Japan. The 25-year-old defender could be back as early as next week although he's expected to be away for longer.

What Arteta has said: "We had a scan and it's not good news. He's got an injury in his calf and he's going to be out for a while."

Expected return date: Unknown

Thomas Partey

Partey was supposed to be at the Africa Cup of Nations, but he had to pull out of the Ghana squad due to an ongoing thigh problem. football.london understands there is hope he makes his return against Nottingham Forest later this month with the Palace tie coming too soon.

What Arteta has said: "It was a huge blow as well losing Thomas. We had other plans as well with him, to become very versatile and unpredictable in our way of playing."

Expected return date: Nottingham Forest (A) - January 30

Fabio Vieira

Vieira will also be unavailable to face the Eagles. The midfielder is making steady progress after having surgery on a groin injury and did some light warm-up during Arsenal's winter camp in Dubai.

What Arteta has said: "Yeah we've got a problem with him. He's been having some discomfort. We tried to have some conservative treatment with him. It wasn't improving so we sent him to see a specialist and the advice was to have an operation in his groin. We expect him to be out for weeks now."

Expected return date: Mid-to-late January 2024.

Jurrien Timber

Timber, who joined the Gunners from Ajax in summer, suffered a devastating injury on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. At the end of the first-half of Arsenal's clash against Nottingham Forest, the 22-year-old defender went down clutching his right knee.

After receiving treatment, he returned to the field for the second-half but he was quickly replaced by Tomiyasu. Following scans and further assessments, the north London outfit later revealed that the Netherlands international ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, an injury which is set to keep him out of action for a large chunk of the season.

What Arteta has said: "It was a huge blow. Everyone could see from day one what he was going to bring to the team. The versatility, the quality, the leadership. And an ability that we did not have in the backline. It was a huge blow."

Expected return date: Unknown
