Arsenal are set to receive a major injury boost as Thomas Partey is in line to return to action against Sheffield United on Monday - with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko also in contention to make their returns.

The Gunners travel to Bramall Lane on Monday night to take on relegation-threatened Sheffield United, knowing victory will help keep pace with Premier League title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City who play earlier in the weekend.

Manager Mikel Arteta has been without a number of his star players in recent weeks, with Partey, Zinchenko and Tomiyasu all missing Arsenal's recent games across all competitions.

Speaking at the Gunners' London Colney training base on Thursday, Arteta was able to provide a positive update on the injured trio ahead of Monday's Premier League.

Here, football.london takes a look at the latest injury news at the Emirates.

Thomas Partey

Partey is set to make his comeback from injury at Bramall Lane on Monday night, having been out of action since October after suffering a thigh injury in training.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Arteta confirmed the 30-year-old is in line to make a return for the Gunners.

"Thomas had a session before the last game and now he’s done two or three consecutive sessions," said Arteta. "He should be part of the squad on Monday."

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Monday's trip to Sheffield United may come too soon for defender Zinchenko, who has missed nearly a month of action after suffering a recurrence of a calf injury.

Speaking on Thursday, Arteta insisted the full-back's availability will depend on how he fares in training over the weekend.

"It’s possible but we’ll have to wait and see," said Arteta. "Especially in the last two sessions on Saturday and Sunday. If that’s the case they might be available on Monday."

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Similarly to Zinchenko, Tomiyasu's involvement on Monday will depend on how he fares on both Saturday and Sunday's sessions at London Colney.

"It’s possible but we’ll have to wait and see," said Arteta. "Especially in the last two sessions on Saturday and Sunday. If that’s the case they might be available on Monday."

Jurrien Timber

This Gunners' next game will come too soon for summer signing Jurrien Timber, who has only featured once in the Premier League since signing for the club after suffering a cruciate ligament injury against Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the season.

However, the Dutchman made a return to training earlier this week as he continues the road to recovery.

Providing an update on the defender, Arteta said: "Jurrien is still not close enough to be part of the squad on Monday."
