Apple iPhone 15 series has been up in the market for over two months. It’s clearly winning against its predecessors, as per data shared by Display Supply Chain Consultants (via Phone Arena). The latest released data notes that the iPhone 15 series’ panel shipments have increased by 16%, as compared to the panels shipped for the iPhone 14 series during the same period through October. Additionally, the panel deliveries for the iPhone 15 exceeded those for the iPhone 13 series in the same period of 2021 by 21%. All in all, this suggests that Apple is expecting strong sales for the iPhone 15 series.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro series has been a hit show, and Samsung won’t hate it

The iPhone 15 Pro models appear to be particularly popular, with panel shipments for these models accounting for 71% of total iPhone 15 panel shipments in October. This is up from 65% in September. The strong demand for the iPhone 15 series is good news for Apple and consumers alike. This shift is noteworthy, especially when considering the higher starting price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max at $1,199 for 256GB of storage, compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max at $1,099 for 128GB of storage. In short, the iPhone 15 series — as a whole — costs 5% more than its predecessor.

Meanwhile, Samsung Display (SDC) plays a pivotal role here. It contributed a massive 81% share of the iPhone 15 series’ panels shipped between June and October. On the other hand, Chinese display major BOE shipped panels for iPhone 15 but could gather only 1% share. Meanwhile, LG Display began panel shipments for the iPhone 15 Pro Max in September. It secured an 18% share for that model through October. LG is involved in providing panels for both the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

BOE has also supplied panels for iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14 previously. However, it’s Samsung Display who has played a significant role. It has supplied over 82% and 79% of panels for iPhone 14 and iPhone 13, respectively. It remains Apple’s consistent supplier for delivering panels for all four iPhones in 2023, 2022, and 2021.
