Adorable cross-eyed cat wins 313,000 fans

An adorable cross-eyed cat has won a legion of fans for his quirky cartoon-like looks, with 313,000 people following his daily antics.

Fedya, a four-year-old rescue cat, has become a viral sensation on Instagram after his owner Natalya Zhdanova, 42, began sharing photographs of him.

Natalya, from Rostov-on-Don, Russia, found Fedya in her back garden in 2020, and initially feared he might not survive.

The feline was born with a coordination disorder and initially struggled to move.

However, four years on, Fedya is thriving - and has hundreds of thousands of fans. 

Natalya said: 'I didn't notice that he had any unusual appearance - he just seemed cute and funny to me. But my friends and acquaintances told me that this cat must be shown to the world.'

She added that she was reluctant to post photographs of him on social media initially, but soon realised how much joy Fedya was bringing to other people. 

Natalya said: 'But as soon as I realised that Fedya brings joy and smiles to people, I realised that I had found my favourite thing in this.

'Of course, I am pleased that many people love Fedya and that they understand and accept my work in the form of humorous videos.'

Natalya shares funny clips of the cat's day-to-day life, adding: 'Fedya looks like a small child. He is as naive and clumsy as a child.'

In one viral video, he appears to be 'meditating', staring intensely at a hanging circle that spins in front of him, with the post garnering 194,000 likes.

Another clip shows the 'clumsy' kitty trying to clamber out of a tiny gap underneath a cupboard, racking up 111,000 likes.

One person commented on a snap of the cat: 'It's a cartoon cat!'

'That face makes him/her even more adorable,' said another fan.

Another user added: 'Fedya, you are not like everyone else and that's great.'
